Frequently Asked Questions - Things you might be concerned about...

My child wants to do martial arts lessons or karate classes, but I don't want him to become a bully.

We understand your concern. At first glance one might think that if you teach someone how to kick and punch and ask them to do their best to be fast and powerful that you could have some problems. Quite honestly, it's usually never and issue. Instead we find that children who are taught about Respect and Self-Discipline and are trusted to do the right thing by instructors and parents, most often times do the right thing. We've found that martial arts training helps kids develop a quiet confidence and a greater sense of control. Kids respect their skills, feel proud of what they know, and have no need to become bullies. Stop in to watch a class. If you like what you see take advantage of a free consultation followed by two free months of lessons.

My son/daughter is involved in many other activities, I don't want to overburden her

Kids have so many things available to them it’s great for young people to try many things in order that they can decide what they like best. At the same time it’s also important to be good at something. We do our best to help parents understand that martial arts training is not just another activity. Kids can always try other things, we encourage them to do so, yet experience has taught us that martial arts training can be a valuable core activity that gives physical and mental balance and strength to other activities and to life in general. Stop in and watch a class!

I've heard that martial arts lessons are expensive

As a parent you are in charge of making decisions for your children that are correct and possibly life changing. What one person perceives as expensive is not expensive to another. We feel that the important question to ask is not the cost but how much value can you get from the experience. It's important for us to provide quality facilities, instructors, and opportunities to all of our families in order for us to provide a top of the line experience. It's necessary to charge accordingly. Consider the value of the experience.

Picasso was painting a canvas on a sun drenched street corner outside of a small bustling cafe in a picturesque French town. A woman watched as he painted and eventually asked if he would paint a portrait of her. Picasso agreed and set about his work. The woman was thrilled and waited anxiously for the finished piece. The entire project took just a bit more than five minutes. The woman was delighted with the work and asked Picasso for the bill. She recoiled in shock as she focused her attention on the ten thousand dollar price tag. She said to Picasso "How can this be? It only took you five minutes to paint this portrait." Picasso replied, "The bill is not for the five minutes it took me to paint the portrait, but for the many years it took me to learn how to do the work."

Value is priceless...

Even though our paint brush and materials may differ, our care and experience will provide you with a masterpiece that you and your family can treasure for a lifetime.
